Cracked it

After my last post last night, I kept persisting and did 2 more builds.

Maybe it was stupid of me to ask my LLM do lots of refactoring as I was building my app (I don’t know I just felt traumatised after the amount of technical debt I had in my last app named HyperLearn) but I had some code that was basically blocking some logic and was causing the crash.

I removed and… Ta-da!

It worked :)

I felt like a little bitch making that cringe sound of excitement while my girlfriend was sleeping next to me but she heard me, quickly glanced at my working app and then went back to sleep haha.

I was so exhausted, so I treated myself to a long walk this morning, although I came back pretty upset.

See, the thing with living in Ho Chi Minh, is people here and especially drivers have absolutely no respect for pedestrians. It’s super dangerous the way 90% of people drive here. Women, men, there’s no distinction, everybody drives like crazy.

At one moment, one guy put his blinking light to turn right and I was coming from the opposite street (he was coming from the right side of the road and we were at a crossroads) so I crossed the street to keep going ahead and he almost ran over me.

I looked at him angrily because he was (in my mind) going to turn right but no! He kept driving instead of turning right! What are you using blinkers for?

So all of this made me think that I should really wake up early and do my utmost best to try and go to sleep earlier as well.

It’s hard because I know I’ve got a steep learning curve ahead of me, there’s so many things which I feel like I have to do.

But at the same time I really love those morning walks because it just makes my day feel more complete.

I’m a bit reluctant to go to the gym nowadays because I’ve got a shoulder injury, so I either run or walk but going out after 7:30am is a total no-go in this city. I think the best is to go around 5 or 6. When it’s still fresh. There’s lots of people after that and I value the quiet solitude.

Feeling pretty excited today.

I need to test my app, I can already see a few things not working but it just feels like the biggest part is done. Now it’s all about just troubleshooting, and it’s done. People will be able to test it!

How happy I am :)
